WIA Tools

The following table lists the WIA tools that available for WIA driver writers in the Windows Driver Development Kit (DDK) and the Windows Driver Kit (WDK). These tools assist in the driver development process and should be used when unit testing new drivers.

This tool allows developers to simulate button presses for the wiascanr scanner sample. (Available in the Windows DDK)


This tool visually displays the item tree that is created by the driver, as well as all the WIA properties exposed by the driver and the current value. Use this tool to experiment with the various values a property can take on, as well as to test the data transfer of your device. This tool can be used to debug your driver during development and during your unit test. (Available in the WDK)
