IUIAutomation::ElementFromHandleBuildCache method (uiautomationclient.h)

Retrieves a UI Automation element for the specified window, prefetches the requested properties and control patterns, and stores the prefetched items in the cache.

Syntax

HRESULT ElementFromHandleBuildCache(
  [in]          UIA_HWND                  hwnd,
  [in]          IUIAutomationCacheRequest *cacheRequest,
  [out, retval] IUIAutomationElement      **element
);

Parameters

[in] hwnd

Type: UIA_HWND

The window handle.

[in] cacheRequest

Type: IUIAutomationCacheRequest*

A pointer to the cache request, which specifies the properties and control patterns to store in the cache.

[out, retval] element

Type: IUIAutomationElement**

Receives a pointer to the element.

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
