Change Control Object properties using a string variable set with the controls name

I have a string variable, it contains the name of a control object within my form. I would like to change the control objects properties using the name contained within my string variable.
Back in the old days this was known as indirect accessing.
Can this be accomplished using Visual Basic 2015?

Visual Basic is not currently supported here on QnA. They're actively answering questions in dedicated forums here.
