En el ejemplo de código siguiente se muestra cómo usar un ObjectDataSource control con un objeto de negocio y un DetailsView control para insertar datos. Inicialmente, muestra DetailsView un nuevo NorthwindEmployee registro, junto con un botón Insertar generado automáticamente. Después de escribir datos en los campos del DetailsView control, haga clic en el botón Insertar . La InsertMethod propiedad identifica qué método realiza la operación de inserción.

En este ejemplo, el UpdateEmployeeInfo método se usa para realizar una inserción; sin embargo, requiere un NorthwindEmployee parámetro para insertar los datos. Por este motivo, la colección de cadenas que el DetailsView control pasa automáticamente no es suficiente. El NorthwindEmployeeInserting delegado es un ObjectDataSourceMethodEventHandler objeto que controla el Inserting evento y permite manipular los parámetros de entrada antes de que continúe la Insert operación. Dado que el UpdateEmployeeInfo método requiere un NorthwindEmployee objeto como parámetro, se crea uno mediante la colección de cadenas y se agrega a la InputParameters colección mediante un nombre de parámetro (ne) que el método espera. Cuando se realiza la Insert operación, se llama al método identificado por la InsertMethod propiedad . Si el Insert método del objeto tiene una firma de método que incluye parámetros, la InsertParameters colección debe contener un parámetro con nombres que coincidan con los parámetros de firma del método para que el Insert método se complete correctamente.
