Description

The Add-DhcpServerv4MulticastExclusionRange cmdlet add a range of addresses to exclude from a multicast scope. An exclusion prevents the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server service from offering these addresses for DHCP assignment.

Examples

Example 1: Add an exclusion range for a multicast scope

PS C:\> Add-DhcpServerv4MulticastExclusionRange -ComputerName "DhcpServer01.Contoso.com" -Name "Multicast_AudioConference" -StartRange 224.0.0.21 -EndRange 224.0.0.25

This command adds an exclusion range with the IP addresses 224.0.0.21 to 224.0.0.25 for the multicast scope named Multicast_AudioConferenceGroup on the DHCP Server service that runs on the computer named DhcpServer01.Contoso.com.

Parameters

-AsJob

Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete. The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt. You can continue to work in the session while the job completes. To manage the job, use the *-Job cmdlets. To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet. For more information about Windows PowerShell® background jobs, see about_Jobs.
