Interpretación de un archivo de registro setupAPI de ejemplo

Los registros de ejemplo siguientes muestran la información contenida en un archivo de registro setupAPI.

En general, todas las partes de una instalación aparecen juntas en el archivo de registro. Una sección de instalación del registro comienza con una entrada del formato [year/month/day time process-id.instance description] donde instance es un número que garantiza que se crean instancias de dos secciones al mismo tiempo para el mismo proceso son únicos.

Para Windows XP, cada entrada de registro incluye un identificador de mensaje que consta de una letra o guión (-) seguido de un número. En la tabla siguiente se describe el formato de los identificadores de mensaje.
