Nell'esempio seguente viene creato un static metodo (Shared in Visual Basic) denominato Function1 che restituisce una stringa e ha un parametro di tipo Int32. Nel corpo del metodo l'esempio di codice crea LocalBuilder oggetti che rappresentano due variabili locali e imposta le informazioni sui simboli per le variabili locali. Il metodo non esegue operazioni significative, ma il corpo del metodo illustra l'archiviazione di un parametro in una variabile locale, l'archiviazione di una stringa letterale in una variabile locale e il caricamento di una variabile locale.
