JSONP は、Web ブラウザーでクロスサイト スクリプティングのサポートを有効にするためのメカニズムです。 たとえば、要求は、URL クエリ文字列のパラメーター値として指定されたコールバック関数の名前と共に送信されます。 サービスから返される応答には、指定したコールバック関数の呼び出しの中に、実行可能なコード行であるかのようにラップされた通常の JSON ペイロードが含まれます。

http://baseAddress/Service/RESTService?callback=functionName は、サービスの呼び出しに使用される URL の例です。 このサービスを呼び出すと、次の JSON 形式の応答が返されます。

functionName({ "root":"Something});  

コールバック パラメーターとして解釈される URL クエリ文字列パラメーターの名前は、JavascriptCallbackBehaviorAttribute を使用して開発者が指定できます。 既定値は "callback" です (大文字と小文字は区別されません)。
