Hit the quality bar in Windows 10

Robust testing helps you create quality Windows products that your customers will enjoy. You’ll want to test your OS image to validate low-level functionality and operation of components, drivers, and systems. To help, we’ve provided the Hardware Lab Kit (HLK), a tool that contains a comprehensive series of tests that you can run to ensure quality and compatibility. We’ve also provided the Windows Performance Toolkit (WPT) to help you analyze and improve performance.

Get listed

Test your systems, devices, and components with the HLK to get listed in the new Hardware Compatibility program. This program replaces the previous certification program and demonstrates to your customers that your products are fully compatible with Windows 10.

Install the kits and tools

Learn about the Hardware Compatibility program

Ensure your device is ready to ship

Install the HLK and configure your test environment. The HLK tests will help you ensure quality and an optimal Windows 10 experience.

Test your mobile device

Learn how to run HLK tests for mobile devices. In this lab, we guide you through the process of testing cameras and touch panels using our automated test system.

Test your drivers for compatibility

Learn how to use the HLK to evaluate driver compatibility with Windows 10. Whether you’re new to the compatibility program or just want to learn more about the testing process, this step-by-step guide is worth checking out.

Analyze energy usage

In this lab, learn about the Windows 10 energy engine and how to analyze energy usage data. Reports are broken down by apps, services, and hardware on retail devices in-use by end users.

Debug your drivers

Use the Windows debuggers to debug your drivers and apps. With Windows 10, the driver development environment and the Windows debuggers are integrated into Visual Studio.

Produce detailed performance profiles

Use the WPT to produce in-depth performance profiles of systems and applications. Learn how to record system events using the Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) and analyze the resulting event traces with Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA).

Learn about new test playlists
