Add or Remove Cluster Users

If you will be giving access to your cluster to other members of your organization, you need to add their domain user accounts or domain groups to the cluster in a cluster user role.

Note

  • To submit jobs to the cluster, a domain user or group must at least be assigned an HPC cluster user role.
  • Starting with HPC Pack 2012 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), a domain user or group can also be added to the cluster as a job operator or a job administrator.
  • Starting with HPC Pack 2012 with SP1, a domain user or group can be added in more than one cluster role and is granted the union of the privileges of the roles.

For example, use the following procedure to add HPC cluster users or HPC cluster administrators.

    4. After you are done adding HPC cluster administrators, click OK.

  4. To remove a member of the HPC cluster, select it on the Users list, and then in Actions pane, click Remove.

Important

Cluster members are added to local groups on the head node such as HpcAdminMirror and HpcUsers. These groups are not deleted after uninstalling HPC Cluster Manager. These groups are retained in case you plan to reinstall HPC Cluster Manager after uninstalling.
