How to Configure a Distribution Point for Internet-Based Client Connections

If a Configuration Manager 2007 distribution point will support Internet-based clients, you must configure the distribution point to accept connections from Internet-based clients.

To configure a distribution point for Internet-based client connections

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Site Systems.

  2. Expand the site system server that is configured with the distribution point role that will manage Internet-based clients.

  3. In the results pane, right-click ConfigMgr distribution point, and then select Properties.

  4. On the General tab, select the option Allow clients to transfer content from this distribution point using BITS, HTTP, and HTTPS (required for device clients and Internet-based clients), and then select one of the following options:

    • Allow Internet-only client connections: With this more secure option, the distribution point will accept only connections from clients using the Internet FQDN.

    • Allow both intranet and Internet client connections: With this less secure option, the distribution point will accept connections from clients using the Internet FQDN or the intranet FQDN.

    注意

If these options are not available and the only option displayed is Allow intranet-only connections, confirm that the site is in native mode and that an Internet fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is specified for this site system server.

  5. Click OK.

    注意

For more information about the options in this dialog box, see ConfigMgr Distribution Point Properties: General Tab.
