By creating a server share site system to host the distribution point site system role, you can control the installation drive used by Configuration Manager to install site system files.

To specify the site system installation drive

  1. Create a share on the NTFS drive that you want to install the optional site system on.

  2. In the Configuration Manager console navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> - <site name> / Site Settings / Site Systems.

  3. Right click Site Systems, click New, and then click Server Share to start the New Site System Server Share wizard.

  4. When you create the server share site system, specify the server and server share path for Configuration Manager 2007 to use.

  5. Assign the site system roles to the site system as required.
