使用该 InitialDelay 属性，可以缩短或延长在显示工具提示窗口之前等待的时间 ToolTip 。 如果属性的值 InitialDelay 设置为持续时间太长的值，则应用程序的用户可能不知道应用程序提供工具提示帮助。 可以使用此属性来确保用户通过缩短指定的时间快速显示工具提示。
此属性的值不能超过 32767。
如果要为工具提示窗口设置一致的延迟模式，可以设置该 AutomaticDelay 属性。 该AutomaticDelay属性根据单个时间值将和ReshowDelayInitialDelay属性设置为AutoPopDelay初始值。 每次设置属性时 AutomaticDelay ，该 InitialDelay 属性都设置为与 AutomaticDelay 属性相同的值。 AutomaticDelay设置属性后，可以独立设置InitialDelay该属性，重写默认值。
