Accessing workflow tasks using Microsoft Outlook
End-users might encounter an error message in Outlook 2013 when they open a workflow task if the URL in the email message (workflow task URL) is not trusted by Internet Explorer. Use this procedure on the computer of each end-user to add the URL of the host name of each Web application that contains a workflow site with which the end user will interact to the Intranet zone in Internet Explorer.
For example, if the URL to your workflow site is http://contoso/sites/Portal/Tasks/default.aspx, you would use the URL http://contoso in step 5 of this procedure.
To add a URL to the intranet zone in Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu of the Command Bar, click Internet Options.
In the Internet Options dialog box, on the Security tab, click Local intranet, and then click Sites.
In the Local intranet dialog box, click Advanced.
In the Add this Website to the zone box, enter the URL of the Web application that contains workflow sites with which the end-user will interact.
Click Add.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each additional Web application that contains a workflow site with which the end-user will interact.
Click Close
Click OK to close the Local intranet dialog box.
Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Accessing SSL enabled sites
If the customer-facing zone of any Web applications that surface SAP content, such as sites on which Duet Enterprise features are enabled, are secured by using SSL, the computers that are used by end-users who have to access these SSL-enabled sites must have the SSL certificate installed. This is typically done by using a domain policy, but it can also be performed manually by each user.
Using the Duet Enterprise Client
You can choose to install the Duet Enterprise Client on end user workstations. Doing so enables the following benefits:
Users can take SAP data in external lists offline into Outlook. For more information about taking data offline, see Connect to an external list in Outlook (https://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-help/connect-an-external-list-to-outlook-HA102843656.aspx).
Enable SAP administrators to troubleshoot issues all the way from the SAP system to the end user's workstation.
The Duet Enterprise Client 2.0 can be downloaded from the SAP Service Portal (http://service.sap.com/swdc). (Enter your user name and password. In the left-hand pane, expand Installations and Upgrades and then click Browse our Download Catalog. Under BROWSE OUR DOWNLOAD CATALOG, click SAP Application Components to expand the list. Under SAP Application Components, click Duet Enterprise. Under DUET ENTERPRISE, click DUET ENTERPRISE 2.0. Under DUET ENTERPRISE 2.0 click Installation to display the download files for the Duet Enterprise Client.)
