Labeled PDF can be printed

Dear

I have a sensitivity label applied to a word document that has only view permission:

When I export the word document to a PDF and open it with Microsoft Edge, however, I can print the file and extract content from the file:

This essentially renders the applied label useless, because one can now print to PDF in order to remove the label.

How can I label a PDF that has only view permission without printing and copy and paste?

Thank you

    Hi @Hannes Stauss ,

If you are the creator of the file, you cannot prevent creators from performing actions on their own documents. The creator has a separate set of permissions, not affected by the protection level/sensitivity label on the document (including printing), as detailed here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/information-protection/configure-usage-rights#rights-management-issuer-and-rights-management-owner

To add additional restrictions to printing in the browser, you could supplement by using Endpoint DLP.
