The switch for Bluetooth disappeared. I uninstalled it in the device manager and scanned for hardware changes, but it didn't reinstall. I manually reinstalled the drivers from intel's website and it still won't show up. Under services there are three Bluetooth related items all running on automatic. When I run the Bluetooth trouble shooter it says my computer doesn't have Bluetooth. My computer says everything is up to date and so are the drivers.

Using a Wireless Switch on a Dell Laptop May Prevent Bluetooth from Turning Back On

    1. Bluetooth may not be able to turn back on when using the wireless switch.

When using the wireless switch, Bluetooth may not be able to turn back on.

If you use the wireless switch to turn off wireless and Bluetooth and then reboot the system, Bluetooth may not activate even if you turn on wireless and Bluetooth again using the same wireless switch.

NOTE: By factory default, the wireless switch is set to turn off only wireless networks and not Bluetooth.

However, by default in the BIOS, the switch turns off both wireless networks and Bluetooth.

If BIOS defaults are loaded, this situation can occur.
    2. What to do

To work around this issue, change the wireless switch settings in the BIOS.

    1. Power on the system
    2. Press F2 at the Dell logo screen to enter the system BIOS.
    3. In the menu on the left, select Wireless.
    4. Select "Wireless Switch"
    5. Set the wireless switch to not turn off Bluetooth.
    6. Press the "Apply" button.
    7. Exit BIOS
    8. Perform a full shutdown in Windows for the changes to take effect. NOTE: The example below shows the location of the Wireless Switch in the System Setup (BIOS). Depending on the system BIOS, the layout may vary. Click the + (plus) sign in the menu to expand the available options.

Alright, KapilArya set me on track.

I had the Troubleshooting > "Device does not habe bluetooth" issue.

    Solved it, here is how:

    1. Restart your PC
    2. When your laptop logo is displayed during restart, press F12 (or F10 or F2 depending on your brand) to access the BIOS menu
    3. In BIOS > Wireless I had WLAN and Bluetooth well checked. I unchecked Bluetooth (not sure it was useful but I just write what I did)
    4. Then I saved my changes
    5. Then I noticed I could set my BIOS settings to "Last good configuration", THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME

Then I restarted my laptop and Blueetooth was back. God it was awful but glad it worked.

I was able to solve the problem like this:

    1. Disconnect the charger from the laptop
    2. Uninstall the USB driver in error from Device Manager (Right-click > Uninstall)
    3. Turn off the laptop
    4. Turn on the laptop, and the problem is solved. BT driver is discovered in Device Manager.

    1. Open device manager (type it into the search bar on the bottom left or hit Windows+R and type devmgmt.msc)
    2. Click 'View' on the top, and select 'Show Hidden Devices'
    3. If Bluetooth pops up (which it did for me, thankfully), click on it. Right click each of the tabs that appears under Bluetooth and uninstall ALL of them.
    4. Restart your computer. The computer will automatically re-install everything.

If device manager doesn’t show Bluetooth, go to BIOS interface to check if Bluetooth has been disabled.
If Bluetooth does exists, you need to contact manufacturer support for help.
