Protecting OST and PST in Windows10 BYOD
Hi,
I was going through limitations recorded in below article and wonder how we can protect OST/PST files in Windows 10 personal devices/laptop.
If we are using personal laptop to access O365/Exchange 2016 mailbox, how can we protect the OST file downloaded to device?
Appreciate ant thoughts around it.

To protect OST files, there are a few standard recommendations:
- Use Multi-Factor Authentication for your account. That way if there are any suspicious attempts to access the files the users will need to provide another method for authentication.
- For Outlook data kept in the computer's disk, a good security measure would be to encrypt the disk.
If you just want to encrypt the files or folders, you can follow these steps:
- Right-click (or tap and hold) a file or folder and select Properties.
- Select the Advanced... button and select the Encrypt contents to secure data check box.
- Select OK to close the Advanced Attributes window, select Apply, and then select OK.
