There are many causes of failure to boot: problems with the operating system, problems with the boot sector, problems with the CMOS battery, problems with RAM, problems with the BIOS, problems with the disk drive, etc.
They require the process of elimination and then definitive troubleshooting steps once the problem is identified.
Older Windows versions had Regback and Microsoft decided to make that no longer automatic.
Custom install is another method.
Best practice is to make free backup images and save the images to another disk drive and/or the cloud.
Saving the backup image to another disk drive makes them easily available.
A backup image is typically restored in less than one hour and often less than thirty minutes.
Another backup image could be saved to the cloud in case there is flood, hurricane, tornado, tusami, volcano eruption, fire, or other unexpected problems related to mother nature.
An additional option is to backup files to another drive or the cloud.
Microsoft had offered backups but they were depreciated.
These are some third party software that offer free and pay back up images:
Acronis
Aoemi
EaseUS
Macrium
Paragon
etc.
