@Dave Patrick i have raised case with Hardware vendor already, do not see any specific details about SLAT in dell page. Thanks
Does my Hyper-v Server Support SLAT/EPT
Hi All,
We have a hyper-v installed and running on Windows server 2012 R2
We are looking to upgrade all 3 hyper-V's to 2016/2019. In the process of upgrade the pre requesites states that the processor should support SLAT.
I have no clue to confirm whether my processor supports SLAT or not. Here are the below things I have checked already
- I have downloaded core info tool and run coreinfo -v below is the output. However it shows to run this tool when hypwer-v is not installed. I have it installed and do not want to erase everything just to check the compatibility
Note: Coreinfo must be executed on a system without a hypervisor running for
accurate results.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v3 @ 2.60GHz
Intel64 Family 6 Model 63 Stepping 2, GenuineIntel
HYPERVISOR * Hypervisor is present
VMX - Supports Intel hardware-assisted virtualization
EPT - Supports Intel extended page tables (SLAT)
URG - Supports Intel unrestricted guest
- I have run the intel processor identification utility. it has intel virtualization technology and ept with x mark.. however i dont belive this
however tasks manager already shows virtualization enabled
- I have checked in intel processor website it shows ept is compatible for my proceesor .. Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v3 @ 2.60GHz .. which is strange
- check in bios .. no options for vtx or EPT
