On Win10/11 home, Microsoft activates Device Encryption (similar to Bitlocker, same technology with less options) automatically if certain hardware conditions are met.
Just google "microsoft device encryption"
Bitlocker and Windows HOME
Hi, looking for an answer to why some computers come with Windows 10 HOME edition preinstalled and yet they have Bitlocker activated and working. Lately i have seen this on Lenovo laptops.
For example the one i am using right now is a windows 11 home with TMP enabled on a UEFI installation but i'm not able to activate Bitlocker.
According to Microsoft, you need to have Windows PRO.
What is so special about those computers?

That is Device Encryption feature which is available mostly on devices (ex: tablet or 2-in1) that support Modern Standby and running any Windows 11 edition. This gives Windows 11 Home edition users the chance to use encryption capabilities.
