You must install SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 before upgrading

Windows Small Business Server 2003 Setup cannot continue unless SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 is installed.

You must cancel Setup, and then install SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3. If the Premium Technologies disc was included with your media, use the CD. Otherwise, you must download from the Web. After installing the service pack, restart Setup.

Before installing SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3, see “SQL Server version 2000 Service Pack 3 Readme.htm” at the Product Support Services Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=14887).

Poznámka

To install SQL Server 2000 Server Pack 3, you must first be running Windows 2000 Service Pack 3. However, it is recommended that you install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 from Disc 3 or the DVD (if available).

To install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

  1. Disconnect your Internet connection device from the Internet. However, do not disconnect your server from the Internet connection device.

  2. Disable any real-time antivirus programs that are running, as they may cause problems while running Setup.

  3. Insert Windows Small Business Server 2003 Disc 3 or the DVD (if available) into the drive.

  4. Click Start, and then click Run.

  5. In Open, type the path to W2ksp4.exe.

    1. If you are using a CD, type D:\SBS\Clientapps\Win2k_SP4\i386\Update.exe, where D is the letter of your drive.

    2. If you are using a DVD, type D:\CD3\SBS\Clientapps\Win2k_SP4\i386\Update.exe, where D is the letter of your drive.

  6. Follow the instructions to complete Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Setup.

To install SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 by using the CD

  1. Disconnect your Internet connection device from the Internet. However, do not disconnect your server from the Internet connection device.

  2. Disable any real-time antivirus programs that are running, as they may cause problems while running Setup.

  3. Insert the Premium Technologies disc into the drive.

  4. Click Start, and then click Run.

  5. In Open, type D :\SQL2000_SP3\x86\Setup\Setupsql.exe, where D is the letter of your drive.

  6. Follow the instructions. The computer restarts following the installation of SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3.

Poznámka

If you have disconnected your Internet connection in preparation for completing Setup, you must reconnect it.

To install the SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 by downloading from the Web

  1. Download the SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=93013).

  2. Disconnect your Internet connection device from the Internet. However, do not disconnect your server from the Internet connection device.

  3. Disable any real-time antivirus programs that are running, as they may cause problems while running Setup.

  4. Follow the instructions provided on the Web site for installing the service pack.

Poznámka

After Windows Small Business Server 2003 Setup is complete, enable any real-time antivirus software that you disabled for Setup.

If you are not using SQL Server, it is recommended that you remove the application rather than install the service pack.

To remove SQL Server

  1. Cancel Setup.

  2. Click Start, click Run, and then type Control Panel.

  3. In Windows 2000 Server, click Add/Remove Programs.

    In Windows Server 2003, click Add or Remove Programs.

  4. Click Microsoft SQL Server, click Remove, and then follow the instructions for removing SQL Server 2000.
