Synchronizing E-mail

Platí pro: Windows SBS 2003

Using cached mode in Outlook 2003, mobile users can synchronize with offline copies of their mailbox and address book. The Synchronize E-mail task in the Manage Internet and E-mail taskpad of Server Management enables the server to retrieve e-mail from POP3 mailbox accounts and to deliver it to Exchange user accounts through either a user mailbox or a global mailbox.

  • If Outlook 2003 connects to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and detects a difference between the server mailbox and the local cached mailbox, it immediately begins synchronizing. For more information, see Synchronizing e-mail.

  • You can use the Synchronize E-mail task in the Manage Internet and E-mail taskpad of Server Management to synchronize e-mail between a POP3 mailbox account and an Exchange user account. For more information, see Understanding the Synchronize E-mail task.
