POP3 Mailbox (POP3 Connector Manager)

You can define a new POP3 mailbox or modify the connection information of an existing POP3 mailbox.
Under POP3 server information, you must define the POP3 server information for the POP3 mailbox that you want to download using the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes.

E-mail server |
Type the fully qualified host name or IP address of the POP3 server. For example, the fully qualified host name could be the server name of your e-mail server followed by its registered Internet domain name, such as ServerName.msn.com. Your Internet service provider (ISP) provides this information. |
Port |
Type the TCP port used by your ISP for POP3 e-mail. Your ISP provides this information. Generally, the port number is 110. |
User name |
Type the name used to log on to the POP3 mailbox account at your ISP. Your ISP provides this information. > [!NOTE] > If you modify the user name, be sure your ISP has made the change in their settings as well. > |
Password |
Type the password used to log on to the POP3 mailbox account at your ISP. To verify the password was entered correctly, retype it in Confirm password. > [!NOTE] > If you modify the password, be sure your ISP has made the change in their settings as well. > |
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) |
Specifies whether to log on using encrypted authentication credentials each time the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes downloads POP3 e-mail. Some ISPs require that you use Secure Password Authentication (SPA). It is recommended that you select this option if your ISP supports it but does not require you use it. |
Under Mailbox information, you must define the mailbox information necessary for downloading POP3 e-mail with the connector.

E-mail domain |
Type the e-mail domain name for this global mailbox. The e-mail domain is used as the e-mail address for users who send e-mail to the Internet. Routing Rules |
Defines the rules necessary to deliver e-mail distributed through a global mailbox that does not directly map to an Exchange mailbox or distribution group, such as e-mail sent to a mailing list.
