Release: Part 2—Redstone manipulation

Completed

A Redstone repeater can be used in multiple ways. We’re going to look at two of its functions.

Watch and do: Redstone repeater

The primary function of a repeater is to receive an incoming Redstone signal from the back and output a new full-strength signal of 15. A repeater is functional when wanting to extend a signal more than 15 blocks.

Watch and do: Redstone signal

Let’s explore Redstone signal strength. A Redstone signal can travel up to 15 blocks at a time. Redstone doesn’t always need to travel in a straight line. It can turn and travel up or down one block at a time.

Watch and do: Redstone comparator

Like the Redstone repeater, the Redstone comparator can be used in multiple ways. Let’s learn about two of its functions.

First let’s explore how to maintain a Redstone signal. Collect the comparators from the chest and place one on the red block. Make sure the arrow on the comparator is facing in the same direction as the pink arrow.

Fantastic work so far! It’s time to return to our house and apply what we learned.

I need some help to finish installing the upstairs lighting. I only have one daylight sensor left. Can you use the rest of the Redstone parts in my chest to help me?
