Adjust items
With item journals, you can post negative and positive adjustments for items. If the location in which you must post an adjustment requires bins, you must enter these bins on the item journal line.
The program creates item ledger entries and warehouse entries when you post the journal.
Before you can enter bin codes on item journal lines, you might have to add the Bin Code field through the Personalize function.
To post a negative adjustment for an item in a warehouse that is set up for mandatory bin usage, follow these steps:
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter item journals, and then select the related link.
On a blank line, enter the posting date.
In the Entry Type field, select Negative Adjmt.
Select the item number.
In the Location Code field, enter the location in which the adjustment should be posted. The program will fill in the Bin Code field with the item's default bin. To ensure that this bin contains the quantity to be adjusted, check the bin contents by selecting Line > Bin Contents. When finished, close the Bin Contents list.
Enter the quantity in the Quantity field.
Post the item journal.
The program will create item ledger entries and warehouse entries that adjust the quantity in the bin to reflect the change.
