Assemble items to stock in the warehouse

If you assemble items to stock in a warehouse that is set up for mandatory bin usage, you need to complete the following tasks:

  • Move the assembly components from their bins in the warehouse to the To-Assembly bin.

  • Move the assembled items from the From-Assembly bin to a bin in the warehouse.

On the location card, you can set up the following default assembly bins:

  • To-Assembly Bin Code - Specifies the bin in the assembly area where components are placed by default before they can be consumed in assembly.

  • From-Assembly Bin Code - Specifies the bin in the assembly area where finished assembly items post when they're assembled to stock.

  • Asm.-to-Order Shpt. Bin Code - Specifies the bin where finished assembly items post when they're assembled to a linked sales order. This field is used for items that have the Assemble-to-Order policy set up.
