Use the pick worksheet

Completed

Companies can use the pick worksheet to plan the warehouse picks. In the pick worksheet, you can set up pick lists for employees that minimize the time that the employee has to spend picking items in the warehouse. The lines in the worksheet can come from several source documents. You can sort them by item, shelf number, source document, due date, or ship-to address.

To use the pick worksheet, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter pick worksheets, and then select the related link.

  2. Select Process > Get Warehouse Documents to open a list of released warehouse shipments.

  3. Select the shipments for which you want to prepare a pick and then select OK.

  4. You can now sort the lines to some degree, but the sorting that you do at this point won't be carried through to the pick instruction. You can also delete some of the lines to make a more effective pick. For instance, if lines with items are in cross-dock bins, you might want to create a pick for all lines that are associated with these lines. The cross-docked items will be shipped, along with the other items on the shipments, and the cross-dock bins will have space for more incoming items.

  5. Select Process > Create Pick and then fill in the Create Pick request page. The sorting that you request will order the pick lines that you create. For example, you can create one pick for each zone and sort the lines by bin ranking within each pick.

  6. Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter warehouse picks, and then select the related link.

  7. You can now find the pick assignment that you created by selecting the pick with the highest number.

  8. After you have performed the pick, select the Register action.
