After installing Teams PWA on Linux Redhat we are not able to get notifications of any type. We have gone through the various permissions settings and they all appear to be on. Is there an issue with this feature ? Does anyone have this working ?

What is the detailed version of Redhat you are using?
Do you mean you wouldn't get any notifications for 1:1 chat as well?
Please also have a check of the Teams on the web to see if it is the same behavior.

Is there any plan to add sound to the only visual notifications? This is pretty terrible for my workflow. Thanks!

Same here, no desktop notifications and no sound, my boss thinks I'm being lazy, you're ruining my job :-(
Ryan: I installed an app called exactly "teams-for-linux" , in that app I get sound notifications when the new message doesn't come from the selected conversation. Sadly, if you are in a chat and you minimize Teams the notification sound for that conversation won't play. Unfortunately, this app is not showing desktop notifications right now, it supposedly has a parameter like --enablenotificationhack or something like that but to me it doesn't work, maybe you should give it a try, might be an issue with my window manager (budgie).

I'm facing the same issue with Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS and it is super annoying to not have sounds when receiving a message or when a meeting starts.

Same here, now stuck with the PWA version of Teams, now I don't get any notifications from anything and people think I'm ignoring them!
Notifications are enabled in teams and in Chrome, but nothing appears or sounds and I have no system tray icon to tell me there was a message or anything.
Definitely a massive step backwards in terms of usability.

Hi, we are using Linux in our company and I can confirm that none of us shows the notifications on Linux after changing from the Linux application to the PWA one.
We use Arch Linux and Ubuntu 22.04, all the systems with the last Gnome.
We have allowed all the permisions and use Microsoft Enterprise Standard.

Thank you for reporting this issue.
Can you confirm that you had the PWA window open (even if not in the foreground) when you missed notifications?
Can you also confirm that you have allowed permissions in 2 places: In the browser for Microsoft teams, and in the OS for the browser?
You can check the former by checking permissions for Teams web:
You can check the latter by using a site like https://www.kenherbert.dev/browser-notification-tester/ to test that OS allows permissions for the browser. (for security, please remember to remove the notification permissions for the site once you're done testing).

I've exactly same problem, my error has been removing Desktop version by mistake and now I'm prisoner of a totally unuseful version: no sound at all when a call or a message is received; checked all permission: browser (tested different ones), user, pulseaudio config, run as root - no chance
...another typical microsoft un software... :-(

Debian 12 with Gnome and Chronium working. I had to change in PWA "Notification style" to Browser and allow Notifications for outlook.office.com in Chronium :)

@Jan Louda It looks like you're sharing images from the Outlook PWA settings screen and outlook's Chromium permissions but I can't see how these will fix it for Teams. Could you please confirm if these are fixing Teams notifications for you?

I get a notification, but without sound and the notification gets automatically removed after one second.
Is there now any fix for this?

Same here but I have no hope in MS after years of having to use some of their software or work with their server products.
I am using PWA (Chromium on Arch) as it is the path they are following and therefore have to accept the lost tray icon which shows new messages arrived or missed calls. Notifications are working though.
Even more annoying is not being able to have ringing on two sound channels at the same time (e.g. headset and laptop loudspeakers) as it was possible before.
We just have to accept that they take decisions based on commercial interests and not customer feedback / needs and we have to use products other than MS if we don't like it.
