OneDrive External Sharing Report/Restriction

Question

Hey there,

we are searching for a way to either audit external sharing through onedrive or to restrict it.

As of now external sharing through onedrive is deactivated in our tenant.

Restriction:

If possible we would like to make it harder for users to accidentely share data outside of our organization. Something like restricting external sharing of folders, meaning users can only share single files or restricting external sharing to only be allowed in a specific folder.

Reports:

There is a built in feature for users to export a sharing report, we would like to automatically send a monthly report to all users to school awareness.

Does anyone have an idea to get either of these ideas to work?

Restriction:

We are unable to block or limit access to specific folders, the limitation can be specified to domains, IP address, users and .etc. For more, you may refer to: Limit sharing in Microsoft 365.

Reports:

According to "Report on file and folder sharing in a SharePoint site", it says "additional reporting options are available with Microsoft Graph Data Connect."
