Good day - will try to articulate the issue here. Multiple users will receive error messages and are unable to save a Sharepoint housed Excel XLSM file. Partial log file when running "Open and Repair" below (redacted user information):

<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main">

<logFileName>error188760_01.xml</logFileName>

<summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\xxx.xlsm'</summary>

<additionalInfo>

<info>Excel completed file level validation and repair. Some parts of this workbook may have been repaired or discarded.</info>

</additionalInfo>

</recoveryLog>

Also will randomly get an error such as "An unexpected error has occured. AutoRecover has been disabled for this session of Excel".

Trying to determine what could be root cause for this error. Any insight which can be returned would be much appreciated.

    Hi @Frazer, Paul ,

    The error message "Errors were detected in file" indicates that the Excel file is corrupted. This could be due to various reasons such as network issues, software conflicts, or hardware problems. The "An unexpected error has occurred" message could also be related to the corrupted file. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Make a copy of the corrupted file and work on the copy instead of the original file.
    2. Try to open the file in Safe Mode by holding down the Ctrl key while opening Excel. This disables any add-ins or customizations that may be causing the issue.
    3. If none of the above steps work, you may need to restore a previous version of the file from SharePoint if version history is enabled.
