Hello everyone,

I have the problem that I can't get the authenticator set up on my new cell phone.

I had to send the old one in, but of course I had to reset it first.

I didn't think anything of it because it's all stored in the CLOUD these days.

When I installed the app on the new phone, I added the MS account. I noticed that no other accounts were listed, so I went to the settings and activated cloud backup, assuming that my backup would be restored. Of course it didn't!

I then deleted the account from the app and only then saw

that you have to click on the WAY TOO SMALL and UNOBSERIOUS text "Start recovery" and not on the THICK button "Add account"!!!

Apparently I made the mistake of inserting my account as a "new" account instead of clicking "Start Restore" and apparently I copied over my backup when I activated cloud backup.

Because I just can't manage to reinstall my old backup.

I keep getting the message "Unable to restore! The backup was not saved to this email address. Sign in to another personal Microsoft account".

Please don't tell me it was so easy to overwrite my data in the cloud without getting any warning.

Is there still hope to save the data on the cloud?
