Hi,

I opened a website weeks ago. It's just a landing page for our start up project. One page, one section, social media links and contact e-mail only. Nothing more since than. After one week it started to show "This site has been reported as unsafe" page. I still don't know why. Searched on the internet for hours. The only solution I saw on the internet is using "Report that this site doesn't contain phishing threats" link on the page. I did that. Dozens of time for 3 weeks.. Nothing is changing. After 24 hours, In the mail that I'm getting after reporting my website as safe says:

"We typically expect to take 24 hours for our investigation. During the investigation, you may not see changes to the status of your site. If the status of your site has not changed after 24 hours, please contact us with a reply to this message. Please do not change the subject when replying."

I also do that in every 24 hours, still no change..

I'm dead serious about privacy. For myself and others. My website does not collect any information, does not contain phishing content, does not contain any virus. I'm tired of saying those in the application form. I search through multiple security plugin and security website like Sucuri, WPSec, Wordfence etc. They all say my website is clean. Other browsers show my website normally. How can I ged rid of this? I'm kind of getting frustrated..

Your site is trying to open something. When I query it in Powershell, I get a popup about an "about link".

In the process monitor trace I see references to "nowprocket=1" and "//altinsapka.com/", and a whole bunch of "navigation cancelled"

I see references to nowprocket=1 in the head/script. It's minified, so it's not easy to read and understand.

Looks like you are using WordPress 5.8.2. Is there a setting somewhere in that app where you set the "about URL"? Turn that off and see if the problem goes away.

As far as an explanation, I'm going to take an educated guess and say that other browsers like Chrome and Firefox just ignore the invalid link. With Edge more integrated into Windows, it tries to open the link and Defender blocks it because it's an internet based site trying to launch what looks like a local app.

Update: It appears that you are not alone.

I doubt there is much we can do if your site has been flagged. It is possible your DNS name has been previously compromised. I think you're going to have to wait on MS to respond. However I'm curious what the more information section says about your site. Perhaps your SSL cert is not properly signed or it uses a cert that came from a cert store known to be compromised.

They don't respond. It's been more than three weeks. That's the thing that driving me crazy. I'm reporting the site as safe as the owner and fill the form everyday. Nothing. No respond, no change.

I've contacted with my hosting provider a couple of times. They did everything but this is not about hosting provider or SSL certificate. There are websites that use same SSL with mine, they're normal. There wasn't any "unsafe" warning first week. This happened after one week.

This is what "more details" says.

Who could report my website in one week? No one knows the website.

    Hi @kill-pr0cess.inc

The warning message is sent by Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. The only thing you can do is to Report that this site does not contain threats like the FAQ mentioned.

Besides, you can also refer to Submit files to Microsoft Defender SmartScreen for review. You can submit a file to Microsoft for review if you believe a warning or block was incorrectly shown for a file or application.

If the site is not for public, you can also turn off the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen for certain users or use group policy to list your website as trusted domain in Microsoft Defender SmartScreen as a workaround.
