Since sometime last week, screensharing in MSTeams for Linux has stopped working.
I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 with the official install of MS Teams. During a call, the screenshare button is visible but doesn't do anything.
Any ideas?

Actually for me it crashes and restarts the team app again. It was working fine but after recent upgrade activity on ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Teams crashes on screen share.
Web app works fine but on screen share only black screen is available.
May be it will help microsoft guys if they are planning to improve teams on linux.

Good tip!
So, in a nutshell: I have to install a full X.org on Fedora34 and switch to a desktop other than Gnome Shell 41 (the one that comes with the distro) plus wasting a few GiB of space just to get screen sharing to work! Excellent!
Problem solved - Administrators have two settings for Guest accounts/users; "Single App" or "Whole Screen" sharing.
It was set to "Single App" which seemed to break screen sharing in Linux Teams entirely. They have now changed to whole screen and it is fixed!

I am still facing same issue for Ubuntu 17.10. I can see clearly if someone else is sharing screen but if I try to share screen from my desktop app, it crashes and restarts app with a message "There was a glitch in Teams app". If I try to share screen using web browser, other people can see only black screen with cursor moving.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

Its still an issue with Ubuntu 20.04 (plasma desktop). The moment i share the Desktop, all i see is a black screen with red border. I had to switch to another terminal (Ctrl-Alt-2) and kill teams. And after that the audio stops working completely. I had to switch to another terminal (Ctrl-Alt-2) again and come back to the original desktop.

Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (kernel 5.8.0-44-generic, Wayland is disabled), Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.4855,
I had the same problem until I uninstalled the proprietary Nvidia driver. I am currently using the open-source "xserver-xorg-video-nouveau". No more issues with screensharing.
