Hello,

I'm received an error while trying to install SQL Server 2019 developer version.
The error that I received once double click on exe file is "A required file could not be downloaded. This could mean the version of the installer is no longer supported. Please download again from from the download site https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=866662"
Can someone please help? Thank you

It could be a damaged download. I would try again, preferably over a different network channel and/or a different computer in case there is something hiding there.

    Hi,

Have you tried to download the SQL Server installation application to another disk from the official website again as shown in the error and retry the installation.

If you re-download a new installer and open it, it still has the same problem. Please take a look on this post which shows same error as yours.

Same Problem... Attempted to run the PowerShell commands but they just say the files do not exist which I would believe because I get the error when trying to install so the executable would not have been able to make those designations on the device. Is there something I'm missing? Really dont understand why this is a thing.
