Is there a way to set Authenticator to generate 6-digit rather than 8-digit codes?

Question

Like many who have had this issue, I switched phones, and now I've been locked out of many apps - as they are looking for 6-digit rather than 8-digit codes.

Ever since the phone switch, the Authenticator only produces 8-digit codes.

There should be a way to fix this. Could someone assist?
