Teams keeps microphone open

Teams 1.3.00.16851 (64 bits) on Ubuntu 20.04.1

Teams keeps using the microphone after a call is finished, but shouldn't it free the mic automatically as soon as the call is done? The only way I've found to free the mic is closing Teams.

Do you mean microphone cannot be used in other application even you have finished calls in Teams?

What he means to say is,
Once you finish a call on Teams, there is a microphone icon in the taskbar which says "Skype is using the microphone."
basically that microphone icon in taskbar is meant to tell us if any app is accessing the mic.
Teams should stop accessing microphone once the call is finished.

Exactly what @Pankaj Kumar said. Seems like Teams never releases the mic at the end of a call. So when I check the system for who is using the mic, it tells me it's Skype.

It's just their way of not taking responsibility, keep voting and wasting your time.
They can't even give 1 update in 2 months, what else can we expect ?

If tommorow linux client stops working, they'll be like "Please vote here"

It's especially annoying with a bluetooth headset, as keeping the microphone open keeps the headset in call-mode, which has lower sound quality than headphone-mode, which makes listening to music after the call a bad experience.

I am not in the same organization, but I have the same problem. It is especially annoying with a bluetooth headset, as keeping the microphone open keeps the headset in call mode, which lowers sound quality and makes the headset unavailable for other, non-Teams calls.

Same behavior on Windows! I'm using the Jabra Pro wired/usb headset and it shows that the call is still in progress even after the call is complete/hung-up. I have to completely exit out of Teams to have it reset.

Same issue here. Jabra headset, tried both Link 370 and link 380 dongles. I do not get the mic icon in the bottom right, but closing teams process allows the mic to be returned to normal (off)

I have exact same issue, I have to quit and reopen teams to release de mic I have Jabra Evolve 75 bluetooth headset.

Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.36367 (64-bit). It was last updated on 1/18/2023.

I'm having the same problem in Debian with both Skype and Teams please see the attached screenshots taken while using the latest Skype version.

Same issue here, Jabra 65 Evolve2 and many other models. Teams keep using the headset after a call and if you have a secondary device (e.g. cellphone) connected via bluetooth, you cannot use it until MS Teams is closed from the tray bar.

Is there any action from MS to solve this? I see it has been opened more than two years ago.

I am also having the same issue here. I have the Yealink WH63 connected to my PC for meetings and my desk phone for calls. After every Teams meeting, I have to close out of Teams from system tray in order to be able to accept phone calls on my headset. The headset base has indicators for PC and Phone when it is active. The PC stays lit green until I close out of Teams. Afterwards, I can freely answer phone calls with my headset again. Incredibly annoying.

I have doubts MS will ever fix this issue, this seems to be ongoing for 2 1/2 years.

FWIW- I have 1.6.00.1381 (64-bit) and it was last updated 2/8/2023 running on Windows 11 Pro 22H2.

Very annoying as it reduces call quality for other apps. Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.1381 (64-bit). Last updated on 03-Feb-23.

Same happening to me - however having to use microsoft products at work bothers me more than this bug. I expect microsoft to have broken terrible software.
