Authenticator app can't restore my backup

I needed to sent my main phone to warranty, so I used my old phone, both Android, to setup the microsoft auth app again.
I can login to my account, but restoring the backup fails with a generic message saying something went wrong and that I should submit the logs. I've tried since multiple devices and they all give the same error.
