Speaking at the Magic City Technology Council Software Conference

I wanted to let everyone know about an upcoming event that I am speaking at - The Magic City Technology Council's Software Conference in Birmingham, AL.  This year's theme is "Dynamic Software Development in the 21st Century"  The event is being held on HealthSouth's campus on March 27th.  The sessions look to be very interesting, and I will shamelessly promote my own.  My session title and abstract:

“Patterns and Practices: Enhancing Productivity and Predictability in Software Development” – In this session we will take an in depth look at common patterns and best practices that are made available through the Patterns and Practices group at Microsoft. In particular we will look at some of the most commonly used libraries, such as Enterprise Library and the Smart Client Software Factory. Also we will examine the Guidance Automation Toolkit and how it can be implemented to create software factories in your projects.

Given the fact that so few people are actually aware of the Patterns and Practices Group at Microsoft, I thought I would take some time to go deep in this area.  If there are any particular topics from the P&P website that you would like me to cover, just let me know as soon as possible.  You may reach me at chad . brooks @ microsoft.com **I try and confuse those nasty spam bots out there - just ignore the spaces**.  I will try and accommodate any requests.

I encourage everyone in the Birmingham area to attend this fantastic event!
