Windows Azure Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio 1.2 & Windows Azure Platform Training Kit - June Update

Its a busy month for Windows Azure & SQL Azure, with lots of new announcements at TechEd 2010 in New Orleans. You can find the details of the Windows Azure updates here, and the SQL Azure updates here.

There is also a June update to the excellent Windows Azure Platform Training Kit.

My favourite new features:

1 – You can now publish to the Windows Azure portal directly from Visual Studio via the “Publish…” option

instead of having to manually load projects via the portal:

2 – The The Server Explorer now now allows you to monitor and track the application deployment into Windows Azure, and to view the IntelliTrace logs to assist debugging

3 - The Server Explorer now has a (read-only) view of Windows Azure tables and blob containers, which is really handy, though for updates and queues, you will still want to look at either https://myazurestorage.com/, or one of the third party tool, such as Cloud Storage Studio.
