8 things about windows 8: mail, calendar and messaging apps
Most of my machines are now touch. I have 2 Acers, 1 Samsung, 1 Lenovo a Sony all in one all featuring touch screens. In Windows 8 there is a great new Mail app specifically designed for touch. It integrates with the Microsoft Account I use to logon to the computer, but it also supports Exchange Active Sync, so my work and personal email are all in the same place.

Multiple accounts can be setup and the touch is easy on a slate.
on screen keyboard (in either Dvorak or Qwerty layout) can be either across the entire screen or thumbnail view below each hand if you are holding the slate. Windows 8 has spell check built in, so Metro full screen apps can take advantage of this as a core OS feature.

The more I use Mail, Calendar and Messaging in Windows 8, the
Messaging and Calendar – if you “swipe” from the left hand side of a slate, two Metro apps can be run side by side (1/3 and 2/3 of the screen)
If you swipe from off to on the screen and then back off the screen all your running Metro apps are displayed.
