ASP.NET Roundup
Time for another ASP.NET roundup post...so here goes:
- The first one is a biggie...the ASP.NET team has released the source code for all of the built-in providers in ASP.NET 2.0! This means that you can download the source, review it to help you understand our implementation, then even tweak the code for your apps.
- Michael Howard blogs about the availability of an Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library for ASP.NET that can help you avoid XSS vulnerabilities by "looking for the good stuff" in input and rejecting everything else. Which is what you're supposed to do. :-)
- The Atlas Control Toolkit is now available. Samples here.
- It's been out there a while, but in case you haven't seen it, here's an article that helps explain the performance monitor counters you'll want to look at when performance testing ASP.NET apps.
- VS 2005 Web Application Project Release Candidate 1. If you're one of those folks who liked how web projects worked in VS 2003, this is for you!
- Build Microsoft Office Communicator chat-enabled web applications using the Communicator Web Access AJAX Service. Note that while this is cool for ASP.NET, you can use the service in other application types as well!
That's it for now...more when I've accumulated another batch of links.
