Introducing Office Hours

Ever wonder what a developer evangelist does? Ever have a question that you just wanted to noodle over with someone? Ever wonder how you could get access to a Windows Phone 7 device to test out your app on?

I think I may have an answer for you.

I’m instituting something new called Office Hours, and the idea is pretty simple. On a regular basis (ideally weekly, but will depend on my travel and event schedule), I will post to my blog and to twitter where I will be in the following week. Often, that will be at one of our local DC-area offices either in Reston or Chevy Chase, but I’ll also arrange to be available in other locations as well.

This week, I’m going to be at the DC Windows Phone Developer Launch event. Today, I’ll be staffing the Windows Phone 7 bar from 12:30pm-5pm. Come and see one of the devices we’ll have on display, and I can show you some of the cool stuff you can do with Windows Phone 7!

Tomorrow, I’ll be a proctor for the Hands-on Labs from 1-3pm, helping folks work on applications for Windows Phone 7. Stop by and say “hi” if you’re at the event.

This Saturday, I’ll be at Richmond Code Camp. I’ll have my Windows Phone 7 device with me, in case folks have an app they’d like to test on real hardware, and I’ll be recording short interviews for the Community Megaphone Podcast, too. I hope to catch you there!

I’ll try to post my Office Hours on either Friday or Monday for the following week, so keep an eye out for those posts. And let me know what you think about the idea!
