TMG Client automatic-detection mekanizmasi olarak DHCP/DNS autodiscovery yaninda Active Directory auto-detection özelligine de sahiptir.

Bir Resource Kit Tool olan TmgAdConfig.exe ile Active Directory' de ilgili girisi olusturmak mümkün.

Eger active directory detection method açik ise; TMG Client proxy server bilgilerini Active Directory’ den almaya çalisacaktir.

Eger bir baglanti sorunu olusur ise, güvenlik nedeni ile DNS/DHCP auto-detection yöntemini kullanmayacaktir (No-failover).

Eger baglanti basarili olur ve active directory içinde obje bulunamaz ise DNS/DHCP auto-detection yöntemine geçis yapilacaktir (Failover).
