When good events go bad...

On Friday's call this week, we're going to talk about making Lemonade out of Lemon Events.

Karen Kalantzis is going to speak, as will Dave Sobel. Here's what happened to Dave for his event yesterday:

Confirmed on the phone yesterday (by actual speaking to the person!): 11

Attended today: 2

Obviously, not the best, but here's how he leveraged the event...

For those who were interested in coming, but couldn't make it, he has 8 planned sales calls (1:1 appointments)

He's got 3 proposals requested (already!).

And...in a tip of the hat to the top partners....he's showing Microsoft the money ;-)

Software licensing dollars form these three proposals:

  • 5 Office Pro 2007 + 5 Groove 2007
  • Windows Server 2003 + 50 CALS for use with Sharepoint Services – TBD if this is hosted or sold, but new licenses regardless.
  • 1 SBS + 5 CALs, expected to close this week.

As Dave writes...

If you do the math on that, that’s $2500 + $2800 + $1000 in pending software licenses generated from the event, plus what we make from the 8 other calls. There are services dollars associated with each of these as well, but I promised you figures from the event, and I intend to deliver on that. I concentrated on software for you since that’s the numbers you needed.

You think the next time Dave comes to me and ask for $ for his event, he's going to get it?
