Finished reading: The Life and Death of Planet Earth by Ward & Brownlee

The Life and Death of Planet Earth by Ward & Brownlee

I bought this a couple of weeks ago when the authors visited the Microsoft campus to talk about their work.  They're both from the University of Washington and both were very interesting to listen to - Don Brownlee is invovled in NASA's Stardust project and he talked a little about that.

This book has been described as a biography of Earth and although describes the birth of the planet it spends more time on the death, which is unltimately more interesting.  They describe the eventualy fate of the planet and the possibly outcomes of life on the planet - from ice age to meteors!

It's not a long book and I easily finished it in an afternoon.  It kept me entertained and worth reading if you've got any interest in the subject - especially as it's on sale at Amazon.com
