Las Vegas and Media Center

I spent the weekend in Las Vegas and left my Media Center at home to record everything I wanted to watch while I was away.  I got back last night and fired it up and saw everything had been recorded correctly while I'd been away and nothing had gone wrong.  I'm always a bit concerned about leaving something like that running when I'm not around, but it did the job perfectly.  I really have nothing to be concerned about as it runs perfectly well when I am there so it should work just as well when I'm not there.

I've noticed I'm really running low on disk space though, I have two 200Gb drives in my system and there's not much left.  Most shows that I record I keep once I've edited out the commericals and then I convert them to WMV format to save space.  I'm either going to have to delete some stuff or get more drives.  I don't like deleting content though, but it could soon get expensive to be adding more storage all the time.  The sooner I have a file server setup to store everything on the better.  This adds another problem though, backup.  There really doesn't seem to be a good consumer solution for backing up that doesn't involve just copying to another drive.  I could just copy on to DVDs and that's a possible solution I might take - restoring from backup though would be a lengthy and labor intensive process though.
