SQL Server R2 Management Studio simplifies multi-server management with dashboards

SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) now has a new tab called the Utility Explorer which provides DBAs insights into how enrolled instances and data tier applications are using resources such as CPU and memory. At a glance, a DBA can see the state of a multitude of instances as well as determining if they are adhering to the utilization policies. The policy based management has been expanded to let define what is under and over utilized for a DBA specified period of time. DBAs are also able to determine how much of this metric set of information will be retained.
