Microsoft Utilities Team Spreads Out to India, OSIsoft and Telvent User Group Conferences
First, an update for our loyal readers: I will be taking a short break as I will be in India on vacation for a couple of weeks, visiting my daughter who is a rotary exchange student in India. She has been away since July and as you can imagine, I can’t wait to see her.
Next week, March 28-30, Microsoft Corporate VP Dan Reed will keynote the OSIsoft User Conference in San Francisco. Dan is VP for Technology Strategy and Policy and Extreme Computing, which are topics of pivotal importance to the future and especially fitting for the theme of OSIsoft’s User Conference, titled “Turning Insight into Action.” The conference itself is focusing on how companies can transform the data provided by utilities’ PI Systems into the insight for decision-making that will make an entire business more profitable. You can learn more about Dan here. Our WW Utilities Industry Solutions Manager, Veronica Cavazos, will be there supporting OSIsoft and our Oil & Gas vertical will be presenting a workshop on their Reference Architecture. Of course we’ve given several webcasts with OSIsoft over the years about SERA, the Smart Energy Reference Architecture. You’ll certainly want to be at this conference if you can and there is still time to register.
In addition, other members of our team will be at the Telvent User Group (TUG 2011) Conference , occurring March 29-31, in Fort Collins, CO. TUG 2011 is intended to provide all attendees the ability to exchange best business practices and increase knowledge of the Telvent utility solutions. Larry Cochrane, our Worldwide Utilities Industry Technology Strategist, and Larry Kuhl, our Utilities Global Alliance Manager, will both be here talking about the Cloud and its application to the utility industry. Their “What’s Your Definition of Cloud Computing” presentation is on March 31, at 1 p.m., in the Working With Telvent Technology track. It’s not too late to register for this conference either: click here! And be sure to read more about Telvent-Microsoft solutions for the utility industry here: Distribution Management, Distribution Design, Outage Management and Enterprise GIS.
So while I’m away the team will be busy, but available. Be sure to look them up if you happen to be at one of these great events. – Jon C. Arnold
