TOPICS:
Introduction to SQL Server Analysis Services 2012 BISM
Level: 200 (Intermediate)
Audience: IT Professionals
The BI Semantic Model (BISM) is a relational (tables and relationships) model with BI artifacts such as hierarchies and KPIs. It unifies the capabilities of SMDL models with many of the sophisticated BI semantics from the UDM. BISM has been introduced in Analysis Services 2012 with the Tabular Mode. Instead of replacing UDM, it expands and enhances the analysis methods that we know today. It allows users with relational modeling skills to create analytical solutions at ease to get faster results.
Join this session to learn the benefits of SSAS Tabular Mode and how to create and configure tabular models, calculations, measures, hierarchies, KPIs and more.
