Imagine Cup Junior Competition

Do you know any students who are interested in a career in the ICT industry? Here is their chance to build their own game and take away the trophy for the inaugural Imagine Cup Junior Competition! This is the first year it is being run, and is open to all students from Year 7 to Year 13 around New Zealand. There are some pretty cool prizes to be won including a Surface Pro 3 Bundle, Xbox One Bundle and JB Hi-Fi vouchers!

It is relatively simple for students to enter; all they need to do is follow the 5 step process that is outlined on the MSA website. A brief overview of this is your students will need to watch videos on Channel9 that have been created by Microsoft Student Partners (available from Friday 19th), develop a game using Construct 2 and then activate and publish it on Microsoft Azure. Unfortunately, it is an individual competition, meaning that students cannot enter as a team.

There is even a way for teachers to get involved by hosting and running the competition training material in your classes. There are workshops that have been developed to help you deliver the necessary information for them to create and enter into the competition. Plus, a free goody bag for schools who commit to run at least 2 classes. It is a first-come-first served basis though so sign up quickly so you don’t miss out!
